Eid in the City: Kano Event Highlights

The anticipation for the Eid in the City event was fueled by the impactful Ramadan experiences. The venue was adorned with crescent-lantern-inspired decor, and traditional gaisuwa music welcomed guests. A photo booth and calligraphy wall offered personalized name cards, adding a thoughtful touch.

Arewa Taste of Home Zone

The heart of the event was the Arewa Taste of Home Zone, an interactive space where chefs Hanifa, Fatima, and Aisha showcased indigenous cuisine using ONGA Chicken and Beef cubes. Through engaging flavor lab demos, they demonstrated the use of local spices and shared the inspiration behind their dishes. Guests observed the cooking process and sampled the results, which included spiced danbo jollof, dan wake with yaji, baked gurasa, chicken suya with yaji, sinassar with miyan taushe, and gwate. A signature Eid mocktail complemented the spicy dishes.

Activities and Entertainment

Between food tastings, the calligraphy wall, and traditional music, the 'Arewa vibe' was unmistakable. Other activities included MC-led food games, henna drawings, music, and a fashion parade where the best-dressed guest won N100,000 cash. The celebration was a resounding success.

Launch of ONGA Dandano Cube

A major highlight was the introduction of ONGA Dandano Cube, a new seasoning blend of soya and local herbs and spices tailored for Northern cuisine. The crowd responded positively as they sampled it in various dishes, signaling that it will become a staple in many Northern kitchens.
