Vaniti Lagos Denies Fake Drink Allegations, Demands Evidence from Accuser
Vaniti Lagos, a premier nightclub in Lagos, has issued a strong rebuttal to claims that it served fake or adulterated drinks to customers. The club's management described these allegations as false and impossible, responding to a TikTok post by an individual who alleged he and his friends suffered stomach aches after visiting the establishment.
Management Questions Accuser's Credibility and Demands Proof
The management of Vaniti Lagos stated that the accuser, who claimed to have visited from Moscow, failed to provide any substantial evidence to support his claims. Specifically, they noted the absence of purchase receipts bearing their names or medical reports confirming hospital admission and the cause of the illness. In a statement released on the official Instagram handle of its CEO, Uyi Ogbebor (@sir_uyi), the club emphasized that its partnerships with global beverage companies, such as Global Wines (Moët Hennessy) and Pernod Ricard (Martell), guarantee the authenticity of all products served.
The club dismissed the allegations outright, insisting that its supply chain structure makes such claims untenable. They backed this assertion with receipts of their dealings with these global brands, stating, "The idea that fake drinks could ever be found at Vaniti is not just false; it is impossible given the structure mentioned above."
Concerns Over Motives and Call for Transparency
Vaniti Lagos also raised concerns about the motives behind the allegations, questioning the credibility of the individual involved. The management pointed out that the accuser does not appear to be based in Nigeria and urged him to provide more circumstantial evidence, such as receipts of drink purchases or payments. "We seriously raise very pertinent questions about the true motives and sponsorship behind these allegations and are doing everything within our power to get to the bottom of this," the statement added.
In an effort to resolve the matter transparently, the club called on customers who were present on the night in question to come forward with any relevant information regarding their experiences. "We also urge our esteemed customers who were genuinely present that night and consumed drinks at Vaniti on the specified date to come forward if they experienced any issues afterward. This will allow us to resolve this matter properly and transparently," the management urged.
CEO Uyi Ogbebor's Response and Future Plans
Meanwhile, CEO Uyi Ogbebor took to Instagram to address the situation, hinting at a forthcoming book that will detail his experiences and challenges. In one post, he wrote, "Some of these people don’t really know me. I will write a book one day. Some think I am just one small boy that hammered money and came to Lagos to do business. Una go learn new things very soon."
In another post, Ogbebor declared that he will no longer remain quiet in the face of attacks, stating he will now come all out for those after him. He wrote, "A book is coming, my story. my truth. My evidence. Every deal. Every betrayal. every lesson. Names. Dates. Receipts. Everyone who has walked through my life in business should get ready. I have kept quiet long enough. Coming soon."
The club's firm stance and demand for evidence highlight their commitment to maintaining their reputation and ensuring customer trust amidst these allegations.
