Darling & Kanekalon Crown Nigeria's Hair Champions

The Nigerian hairstyling scene has witnessed an unprecedented surge of artistry, culminating in the grand finale of the 2025 NASHCO Hair Creativity Competition. This electrifying national tour, a powerful collaboration between the National Association of Hairstylists & Cosmetologists (NASHCO) and leading brands Darling Nigeria and Kanekalon™, successfully identified and celebrated the nation's most talented and innovative hairstylists.

A Nationwide Tour of Talent and Color

The competition ignited creative fires across six major hubs in Nigeria, creating a vibrant circuit of talent. The tour made impactful stops in Ogun, Oyo, Kwara, Abuja, Kaduna, and Kano, drawing massive crowds of stylists, beauticians, and industry stakeholders. Unlike traditional contests, this event challenged participants to move beyond conventional black and brown tones, pushing them to explore Darling's extensive and vibrant color palette to achieve breathtaking, head-turning styles.

The Creative Challenge and Judging

This was far more than a simple hairstyling contest; it was a rigorous test of artistic vision and technical skill. Judges, comprised of industry experts, assessed entries based on strict criteria, with a heavy emphasis on originality, complexity, and visual impact. A significant 50 marks were dedicated solely to Style, where the strategic and effective use of Darling's vibrant shades, including popular colors like Lilac Sorbet and Aqua, was paramount. Contestants were required to demonstrate intricate braiding, futuristic designs, and architectural shapes, all while utilizing 100% authentic Kanekalon™ fiber for a flawless finish.
