The Night of June 7th: A case so chilling the nation's President got involved. The Apo Six killing was so shocking that the then-President intervened. Six young friends, five men and one woman, were killed by police officers in the Apo community of Abuja, Nigeria. To cover up the extrajudicial killings, arms were planted on them, and they were labeled armed robbers. However, the truth cannot remain hidden forever. President Olusegun Obasanjo, at the time, established a Panel of Inquiry in response to public outrage over the killings. Obasanjo also apologized to the families of the victims and ordered compensation payments. The Night of June 7th, releasing this June, is inspired by this shocking incident in Nigeria's history. The film stars Femi Branch, Ali Nuhu, Gideon Okeke, and Charles Lenny. It is written and produced by Linda Ikeji and directed by Toka Mcbaror. View the teaser below.
