Nigerian Broadcaster Slams Women with Five to Six Children Seeking Assistance
Anastasia Odochi Uchenna, a prominent Nigerian broadcaster, has publicly criticized women who approach her for financial help while having five to six children. In a Facebook post made on Thursday, April 15, she emphasized that couples lacking economic stability should avoid having multiple offspring.
Economic Realities and Family Planning
According to Anastasia, even individuals with jobs are finding it difficult to cope with the current economic downturn and escalating living expenses in Nigeria. She expressed frustration, stating, "I am so tired of women who come to me for help and I find out they have Five to Six kids." She questioned the logic behind such decisions, urging people to "Have sense na" and adopt safety measures.
She highlighted that family planning is an affordable option and should be embraced to prevent subjecting children to hunger and suffering. "After three kids, what are you still looking for???" she wrote, pointing out the challenges faced by families without a reliable income source.
Call for Common Sense Amid Hardship
Anastasia stressed that in a time when everything is going up in Nigeria, it is crucial for couples to consider their financial capabilities before expanding their families. She remarked, "Even people wey dey work dey manage to survive under this economy," underscoring the widespread struggle.
While acknowledging the importance of personal enjoyment, she advised, "I no say make you no nack, enjoy yourself ooo. Haba! Have common sense and embrace safety measures." Her message serves as a stark reminder of the need for responsible parenting in the face of economic adversity.
