Pastor Kingsley Okonkwo has issued a warning to single individuals against engaging in secret dating. In a post on his X account, the pastor cautioned that such relationships often lead to negative outcomes, stating, 'You might suffer in silence.' He emphasized that while a relationship can be private, it should not be kept secret.
Private vs Secret Relationships
Okonkwo elaborated on the distinction between privacy and secrecy. 'The whole world might not need to know but if he/she is serious with you, important people should know,' he wrote. He stressed that secrecy is usually a bad sign and can expose individuals to dangerous situations.
Importance of Accountability
The pastor advised that the best time to seek counsel from wiser people is before starting a relationship. 'Don't let them keep you secret....it's usually a bad sign,' he added. He urged singles to ensure that people who can hold them accountable or provide guidance are aware of the relationship, as this can prevent future suffering.
