Indomie brought World Indomie Day 2026 to the streets of Lagos on October 6, deploying mobile kitchens, music, and giveaways to delight commuters and residents across the city. The activation, which reached areas including Ikorodu, Festac, Oshodi, and Surulere, was designed to bring the celebration to everyday Lagosians ahead of the Indomie Palooza festival, scheduled for October 10 and 11 at the National Stadium, Surulere.
Mobile Kitchens Surprise BRT Commuters
Waiting for a BRT bus became a more exciting experience as Indomie's mobile kitchens pulled up at selected stations. Commuters were treated to freshly prepared Indomie while going about their daily routines, turning an ordinary stop into an unexpected food experience. The initiative aimed to make the brand's presence felt in the daily lives of Lagosians, not just at event centres.
The familiar “I Love My Indomie” jingle filled the streets, becoming a central part of the celebration. As Indomie teams moved through different locations, the sound drew people into the festivities. Consumers sang along, danced, and joined the fun, as the jingle evoked a sense of nostalgia associated with the brand.
Celebration Spreads Across Lagos Neighbourhoods
The activation was not confined to a single location. Indomie teams reached Ikorodu, Ajah, Oshodi, Abule Egba, Ojota, Ikeja, Oyingbo, Festac, and Surulere, meeting consumers across different parts of the city. This widespread reach ensured that many Lagosians could participate in the World Indomie Day celebrations.
Beyond the food, consumers received branded merchandise as part of the giveaway. Indomie teams created opportunities for people to interact with the brand, take photos, and join in the World Indomie Day fun. Busy streets and transit points became spaces for spontaneous moments of joy, as people paused their daily routines to sing, dance, and interact with the brand.
Brand Manager Explains the Vision
Ebere Anajama, Brand Manager for Indomie, explained the thinking behind the street-level celebration. “World Indomie Day is a celebration of the love Nigerians have for Indomie. This year, we wanted to take that love to the people and make the celebration feel personal, spontaneous, and accessible. From the music and jingle to the mobile kitchens and giveaways, we wanted people across Lagos to feel the joy of the day wherever they were.”
The World Indomie Day celebration leads directly into Indomie Palooza, a two-day event scheduled for October 10 and 11 at the National Stadium, Surulere. Under the theme “Where Moments Meet Fun,” the festival will bring consumers together through food, music, entertainment, and shared experiences.
From BRT stations to busy streets across Lagos, World Indomie Day demonstrated how a brand can take a celebration directly to the people. The event concluded with the message that Indomie brought the love to Lagos, and Lagosians felt it, setting the stage for the upcoming Indomie Palooza.
