A pregnant woman has revealed that a nurse issued a stern warning after she wore shorts to her antenatal appointment at a hospital. Blessing Sunday Okoro shared the incident on social media, explaining that the nurse told her she would not be attended to if she appeared in shorts again.
Nurse's Warning Over Shorts
Okoro, who is expecting a child, said the nurse, referred to as the matron, called her aside and stated that if she came to antenatal wearing something "this short" without a wrapper, she would be sent home or denied care. The warning came after Okoro arrived at the hospital in what she described as a comfortable outfit for the visit.
Sharing photos of the outfit that sparked the nurse's reaction, Okoro wrote: "Dressed like this to antenatal and the matron called me and said When next I wear something this short to come for antenatal without wrapper, she would send me home or I wouldn't be attended to."
Pregnant Woman's Response
Okoro expressed uncertainty about the nurse's reasons for the instruction, noting that she decided to comply to avoid potential consequences during labour. She explained: "I don't know her reasons for telling me such but because I no go want make she carry me do example for labour room say I once disrespected her."
In response, Okoro said she stopped wearing shorts to antenatal appointments and instead opted for a comfortable maternity gown. She added: "I kukuma stopped wearing shorts to antenatal, rather a comfy maternity gown."
