A young gang-rape victim has been returned to the street where she was found in Calabar, Cross River State, raising concerns that she risks being abused again.
Discovery and Initial Rescue in Etta-Agbor Layout
According to reports, the girl was found lying down on the road in Etta-Agbor Layout, Calabar, in a weak condition. Good Samaritans who came across her bought her Sprite and bread, and after eating, she was able to speak.
The girl explained that three boys had raped her. She was then reportedly taken to the hospital where first aid was administered and she was fed.
Return to the Street and Growing Concerns
Sadly, she was returned to the street afterwards, sparking concern that she risks being abused again. The incident highlights the vulnerability of the victim and the challenges in providing sustained care for such cases.
