Shanlavell James has revealed she broke up with her perfect fiancé, a man who wanted to marry her and raise her three children. In a social media post, she explained that she left him because she loved him too much to let him sacrifice his dream of having a biological child.
Why She Walked Away
James said the man was successful, had no biological children, and always expressed a desire to have a child of his own. She, however, had already had three C-sections, and her doctor warned that another pregnancy would be high risk. She was not willing to risk her life for another baby.
He accepted her decision and even suggested surrogacy as an option, but James felt that a man as good as he was deserved the full experience of watching his wife carry their child. She said, "Although he was perfect for me, I realized I wasn’t perfect for him."
The Proposal and Immediate Breakup
James recounted that he proposed to her, and she said yes, but when they got home, she immediately ended the relationship. She explained that she left because she chose to be selfless rather than hold on to a good man simply because he was good to her.
She added, "This man had spent his whole life living right and preparing himself to have a family the right way, and I knew in my heart there was a woman meant for him who could share that experience with him."
No Regrets and a Happy Ending
James stated that she has no regrets about walking away. She revealed that he is now happily married and his wife is pregnant. Her story highlights the difficult choices people make out of love, even when it means personal sacrifice.
