Asake Reveals Leaving Home at 15 Against Father's Wishes to Pursue Music Career
Nigerian singer Ahmed Ololade, widely known by his stage name Asake, has shared intimate details about his challenging journey into the music industry, revealing that he made the bold decision to leave home at just 15 years old to chase his musical dreams, despite his father's strong opposition to the move.
The Difficult Decision That Shaped His Path
In a recent candid interview with content creator Korty EO, Asake reflected on his early years and the pivotal moment that set him on his current path to stardom. The award-winning artist explained that his father's stubborn nature made it impossible for him to seek approval when he decided to leave home and focus entirely on his music aspirations.
"The father who gave birth to me, he is way more stubborn than I am, so I could not look at his face," Asake revealed during the interview. "We were close when we were younger, but it got to a time when I wanted to leave home to do what I am doing now, but my father said no. I took off regardless."
The singer emphasized his unwavering determination at that young age, stating, "I was 15. I was just focused on where I was going, and there was nothing anyone could tell me." This single-minded focus would eventually propel him to become one of Nigeria's most prominent Afrobeats artists.
Rise to Prominence and Career Milestones
Asake's musical journey began gaining significant traction in 2020 with the release of his breakthrough single "Lady," which captured wider attention across Nigeria's vibrant music scene and marked his emergence as a serious contender in the industry.
