The multi-award-winning artist made this statement during a recent Twitch stream with Nigerian content creator Carter Efe, where he offered advice on building a career rooted in homegrown support.
Speaking on the stream, Davido explained that while Western recognition is gratifying, it is the strength of his local fanbase that truly commands global attention. "It's very important to take over your home...The Western validation is good and sweet, but they are looking at your motion here. The motion I have in Yankee (overseas) is because they know in Nigeria, I am the King," Davido said, as reported by Pulse Nigeria.
