Mr P Performs at Davies' Wedding
Nigerian singer Peter Okoye, known as Mr P of the iconic group P-Square, delivered a dazzling performance at the wedding of Bayern Munich and Canadian footballer Alphonso Davies. The ceremony took place in July 2026 at the Château de Saint-Martin-du-Tertre in France, with Mr P sharing clips of his performance on social media. In one video, the couple danced to the hit P-Square song 'E No Easy', while guests including Davies' Bayern Munich teammates sang along.
Wedding Details
Davies married his longtime partner, Jen, after a relationship that began in 2022. The couple got engaged in Dubai on New Year's Day 2025 and tied the knot in a lavish ceremony at the historic French château. Davies wore a burgundy suit with gold accents and a cane, while Jen donned a matching gown and a traditional headpiece honoring her roots. Among the guests were several of Davies' Bayern Munich teammates, including German star Jamal Musiala, who appeared to be a big P-Square fan as he enthusiastically sang along to the performance.
A Celebration of Love
Mr P took to Instagram to share his joy, writing: "Paris wedding. What a beautiful celebration of love. Congratulations to my brother @alphonsodavies and his gorgeous wife! Wishing you both a lifetime of unconditional love, laughter, peace, and God’s endless blessings. May your union grow stronger with each passing day." He also acknowledged Musiala, adding, "@JamalMusiala I see you my bro. It was truly an honour to celebrate this special moment with you both. Love always wins." The performance was also highlighted by Pulse Sports Nigeria, which tweeted: "Nigerian music took over Alphonso Davies' wedding as Mr P performed live, with Jamal Musiala enjoying every second of it."
P-Square's Enduring Legacy
Mr P's performance underscores the lasting impact of P-Square, whose music defined the 2000s and early 2010s in Africa and beyond. The twin brothers, Peter and Paul Okoye, released era-defining albums filled with mega-hit singles that remain party staples decades later. Regarded as one of African pop music's most successful acts, P-Square won multiple awards, including the prestigious Artist of the Decade prize at the MTV Africa Music Awards. Their music continues to earn them invitations to high-profile events, both globally and in private ceremonies like Davies' wedding.
Continued Rift Between Brothers
Despite their musical legacy, the Okoye brothers remain at loggerheads. The rift escalated in 2024 when Peter Okoye petitioned the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) alleging fraud and mismanagement of funds by his twin brother Paul (Rudeboy) and older brother Jude Okoye. In 2025, tensions grew further when Mr P announced a new birthday date to avoid sharing the day with his twin. While the brothers have not reconciled, their catalogue of hits continues to unite fans worldwide, ensuring that P-Square's music remains a fixture at celebrations.
