Baba Suwe's Daughter Reveals Final Words Before Death

Halimat Omidina, daughter of the late Yoruba comedy legend Babatunde Omidina, popularly known as Baba Suwe, has disclosed that her father told her he was going to die just two days before his actual passing. She shared this revelation on Saturday, 22 August 2026, which would have been his 68th birthday, in a series of emotional posts on her X (formerly Twitter) account.

Baba Suwe's Chilling Prediction Before Death

In her tribute, Halimat, a model and content creator, recounted the moment her father made the startling prediction. She recalled that when someone asked if Baba Suwe ever told her he was going to die, she confirmed it, saying: "Yes, he did. Two days before, he told me, but I laughed it off. I thought he was joking."

The very next day, Halimat received an urgent call urging her to return home because her father's condition had worsened dramatically. When she arrived, Baba Suwe could no longer speak. "He couldn't talk anymore, and an hour later, he passed," she said.

Emotional Birthday Tribute

Halimat's post began with a heartfelt message marking the actor's posthumous birthday: "Happy posthumous birthday, Daddy. Today feels so different, no crowd, no jollof rice, no you in your new shirt." The words painted a vivid picture of how different the day felt without the veteran actor, who passed away on 22 November 2021 at the age of 63.

She also expressed deep regret over not making the most of their time together, wishing she had embraced him more firmly during that final conversation. "I wish I made more memories with you and hugged you tighter when you told me you'd die. May Allah have mercy on you and grant you Jannatul Firdaus," she wrote.
