A 36-year-old British man has tragically died in Turkey after travelling to Istanbul for cosmetic medical procedures, sparking a police investigation.
The Fatal Medical Journey
Mentor Rama, a 36-year-old British citizen of Albanian nationality, travelled from Britain to Turkey specifically for a hair transplant procedure. Local reports confirm he checked into a hotel in the Şişli district, conveniently located near the clinic where he underwent the hair restoration surgery.
The sequence of events took a tragic turn when, the day following his hair transplant, Rama received additional dental treatment. Shortly after returning to his hotel, he collapsed unexpectedly, prompting an emergency response.
Emergency Response and Investigation
Emergency services rushed the unconscious man to Seyrantepe Hamidiye Etfal Training and Research Hospital by ambulance. Despite medical efforts, he was pronounced dead at approximately 4:30 PM on November 11.
Turkish authorities have launched a formal police investigation into the circumstances surrounding his sudden death. An autopsy was performed as part of the standard procedure before his family could claim the body and return it to his home country for burial.
