Sheeba Pramod, a resident of Menamkulam, Kazhakkoottam, underwent an emergency appendectomy at the CSI Mission Hospital on December 3. She was discharged nine days later, but her recovery was far from smooth. Instead, she suffered through a grueling three-month ordeal characterized by what she describes as "unbearable agony" and severe mental distress.
Her surgical wound failed to heal correctly, and she was plagued by persistent, debilitating pain. This ongoing suffering eventually compelled her to seek a second opinion at another private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram, where the shocking truth was uncovered.
Diagnostic Scans Reveal a Foreign Object Stitched Inside
Diagnostic scans conducted at the second hospital revealed a disturbing cause for her complications. A foreign object, identified as a surgical cloth or gauze, had been stitched inside her abdominal cavity. This retained surgical item had caused a small perforation at the wound site, explaining her prolonged pain and failed healing.
Following this discovery, Sheeba returned to the original CSI Mission Hospital, where a second surgical procedure was performed to remove the object. Distressing footage has since emerged, purportedly showing the moment the blood-stained cloth was extracted from the infected wound, adding a visceral layer to the allegations.
