Radio Doctor Warns Women Against Planning Revenge in Old Age
Radio Doctor Warns Women Against Planning Revenge

Radio Doctor's Hard-Hitting Advice

Oby Olamma Nnadi, a radio doctor, has issued a stark warning to women enduring abuse in their marriages with the hope of exacting revenge when their husbands grow old and frail. In a Facebook post, Nnadi urged these women to either leave the relationship or genuinely forgive their partners, labeling the revenge mindset as "vindictive" and a waste of energy.

Leave or Forgive: No Middle Ground

Nnadi emphasized that staying in an unhappy, abusive marriage implies a decision to forgive past wrongs. She rejected the victim mentality that some women use to justify staying, hoping for future payback. "I will never encourage that victim mentality of 'some men will suffer in old age because they were abusive husbands,'" she wrote. Instead, she called for a normalization of honest conversations about marriage.

The Vindictive Trap

The doctor questioned the logic of planning revenge over decades, calling it "absolute rubbish." She advised women to either leave the marriage or stay and fulfill their vows. "There will never be a good enough reason to be so vindictive, that you start planning your 'revenge' in old age. That's expending too much energy on absolute rubbish!" Nnadi added.

A Stark Reality Check

To underscore her point, Nnadi shared a sobering personal observation. She noted that between August and December 2025, four married women personally known to her, all under the age of 40, died in their sleep or from physical health problems. Their husbands, who are older, remain "hale and hearty." She asked, "So what's the guarantee that you will outlive that man you are planning to deal with in future?"

Nnadi's message is a call for women to prioritize their well-being and not waste years in a toxic situation for the sake of societal approval or a misplaced sense of revenge. Her advice resonates with many who face similar dilemmas in abusive relationships.
