Danh, a nurse from San Antonio, fell ill on April 9, 2026, just two days into her trip to Tokyo with her husband, Luke Gradl. What began as mild malaise quickly escalated into acute liver failure. Upon her return to San Antonio on April 21, doctors discovered she had suffered a stroke resulting in severe brain damage, leading to warnings that she might never wake up.
