The Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC) has announced a major expansion of its humanitarian services to Port Harcourt residents through its Christ Compassion to the Rural World Foundation (CCRWF).
Divine Guidance Leads to Port Harcourt
Founder and Senior Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo revealed the upcoming mission during a media briefing held in Lagos on Monday. The event was attended by key foundation members including Rev. Jet Bankole, Pastor Femi Faseru, and Mrs Nasara Katugwa-Washpam.
The outreach program, themed "Port Harcourt, This is Selfless," is scheduled to run from November 24 to 29, 2025. Pastor Ashimolowo explained that the decision to select Port Harcourt followed divine guidance, similar to the foundation's previous successful initiatives in Ikorodu and Ibadan.
Comprehensive Medical and Spiritual Support
The program will feature an integrated approach combining medical screenings, surgical interventions, relief distribution, and gospel services. This holistic strategy aims to provide both spiritual and social transformation to the host communities.
According to Ashimolowo, CCRWF has already prepared extensively for the mission. Their warehouses are fully stocked with medical equipment, surgical supplies, and various relief materials. Preliminary screenings have already shown remarkable response from the community, with many residents coming forward for assessments.
The medical services will address common conditions including cataracts, fibroids, and other prevalent health issues in the region.
Sustainable Relief and Dignity Preservation
A significant aspect of the mission is the emphasis on post-surgery follow-up care. Medical teams will collaborate with partner hospitals to ensure patients recover safely, particularly for procedures requiring extended observation periods.
Pastor Ashimolowo stressed that the outreach is designed to provide sustainable relief rather than temporary palliative care. "Our goal is to ease burdens while preserving dignity, transforming lives spiritually, medically, and socially," he stated.
He emphasized that Nigerians are dignified people whose challenges often stem from systemic issues rather than personal shortcomings.
The pastor also acknowledged the Rivers State government for their cooperation in supporting CCRWF's efforts. The state government has granted access to hospitals, health centres, and military facilities to facilitate the medical intervention.
This collaboration ensures that the foundation can maximize its impact and reach more residents in need of medical attention and humanitarian support.
