Adebayo Blames Insecurity on Leadership Failure, Methodist Church Urges Action
Adebayo: Insecurity Due to Leadership Failure

The 2023 presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Prince Adewole Adebayo, has voiced deep concern over the escalating insecurity in Nigeria, stating that citizens are weary of constant loss of lives. Speaking as a guest on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily program, Adebayo attributed the crisis to poor governance and a lack of political will, emphasizing that the situation is not complex but rather a clear result of leadership failure.

Allegations of Political Exploitation

Adebayo accused the government of leveraging insecurity for political advantage, mismanaging national resources, and failing to implement decisive measures. He criticized both the ruling party and segments of the opposition, asserting that many politicians operate within a broken system and cannot deliver genuine change.

Methodist Church’s Call to Action

Separately, the Methodist Church of Nigeria has urged the Federal Government to urgently tackle rising unemployment, insecurity, and economic hardship. The church also appealed to eligible citizens to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to participate in the 2027 general elections.
