Former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai returned to the Federal High Court in Kaduna on Monday as proceedings continued in the corruption case instituted against him by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).
Court Appearance and Security Presence
The former governor arrived at the court premises alongside officials of the anti-corruption agency and security operatives drawn from the Department of State Services and the Nigeria Police Force. Monday's session is expected to focus on arguments and applications filed by both the prosecution and defence as the high-profile case moves into its next phase.
Allegations Against El-Rufai
The ICPC is prosecuting El-Rufai over allegations of abuse of office, fraud and financial misconduct linked to projects executed during his administration in Kaduna State. Investigators claim public funds were released for projects that were either not carried out or were allegedly managed in violation of due process.
El-Rufai's Denial
El-Rufai has consistently rejected the allegations, insisting that he committed no wrongdoing while serving as governor.
