In a statement released by his media team on Friday in Abuja, the senator responded to allegations made by Sahara Reporters concerning the Paris Club refund matters.
Investigation Findings Support Senator's Position
The statement emphasized that four separate investigations conducted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), including a recent review under the current administration, have all concluded that the contractual work was duly executed. According to the senator, these investigations confirm that outstanding balances remain due under established agreements, with no evidence of impropriety.
Official Records Back Claims
Senator Nwoko highlighted that official records from the Federal Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank of Nigeria support these findings. These institutions, where all federal payments are processed, documented, and audited, corroborate that the fees are legitimate and in line with contractual obligations. The senator stressed that allegations linking him to any improper collaboration with the Attorney General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi, are entirely unfounded and malicious.

The statement pointed out that individuals such as George Uboh and Omoyele Sowore are actively circulating these narratives, which the senator believes are part of a sustained misinformation campaign driven by personal or political motives.
