I'm not under investigation by any law enforcement agency — Nnaji
Nnaji denies investigation, certificate forgery claims

Immediate past Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Uche Geoffrey Nnaji, has refuted media reports that a court ordered his arrest over allegations of certificate forgery. In a statement issued on Monday, his spokesperson, Dr. Robert Ngwu, declared that Nnaji is not under investigation by any law enforcement agency and that the reports are part of a campaign to damage his reputation.

Nnaji Denies Hiding or Evading Authorities

The statement emphasized that Nnaji, who is the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate for Enugu State in the 2027 elections, is not in hiding. It noted that he has resided openly at his homes in Asokoro, Abuja, and Independence Layout, Enugu, locations well known to public authorities. The statement also clarified that neither Nnaji nor his legal team, led by Chief Wole Olanipekun, SAN, has received any summons, invitation, or warrant from the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).

Media Trial Allegations

The statement accused the news platform of subjecting the former minister to a media trial amid growing political interests. It described the reports as false and misleading, alleging a sustained campaign to tarnish his reputation.

Legal Action Already Underway

Nnaji has already approached the Federal High Court in Suit No. FHC/ABJ/CS/1909/2025, seeking judicial determination over issues related to his academic records, including the release of his transcript. The matter remains pending before the court. The spokesperson stressed that Nnaji voluntarily filed the case as the claimant, contrary to claims that he was dragged to court.

“Chief Nnaji remains committed to due process, transparency, and the rule of law. He remains confident that facts, not sensational headlines, will ultimately prevail,” the statement concluded.
