Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has formally submitted his nomination form at the national headquarters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abuja, positioning himself as the consensus candidate for Ogun East Senatorial District. The submission marks a significant step in his political journey.
Governor Abiodun's Commitment to Ogun East
Speaking briefly after the submission, Abiodun emphasized that the occasion transcends a mere political exercise. He noted that it represents his enduring commitment to the people of Ogun East, a district renowned for its rich history, enterprise, culture, and immense potential. The governor expressed confidence in the support of party members and constituents.
Endorsement of Adetomiwa Adetilewa for Ijebu Central
In a related development, leaders of the APC in Ogun State have unanimously endorsed Adetomiwa Adetilewa as the party's consensus candidate for the House of Representatives seat representing Ijebu Central Federal Constituency. Reacting to the endorsement, Adetilewa expressed appreciation to the party leadership, members, and supporters for the confidence reposed in him, pledging to work diligently for the constituency.
Adijat Adeleye Endorsed for Ifo/Ewekoro Federal Constituency
Similarly, APC leaders in Ogun State have endorsed the immediate past Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Adijat Adeleye, as the consensus candidate for Ifo/Ewekoro Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 elections. Adeleye has also picked up her Nomination and Expression of Interest Forms to contest for the House of Representatives seat.
She promised to carry the leaders and people along in her representation and bring people-oriented projects to the communities within the constituency. Her emergence as the candidate followed wide consultations and various reconciliatory moves and consensus agreements among party leaders, stakeholders, and key political figures within the constituency. This was decided at a stakeholders' meeting held at the Ibara GRA residence of Chief Joju Fadairo.
In a statement released yesterday, the two-term former lawmaker in the State House of Assembly thanked the party leaders, stakeholders, and the governor for their support and contributions towards her emergence as the party's consensus candidate for the House of Representatives seat. She reiterated her dedication to serving the people and advancing the interests of the constituency.
