Adamu Garba Denies APC Defection Rumours for 2027 Polls

Adamu Garba Rejects Defection Speculation, Stays Loyal to APC

Adamu Garba, a former presidential aspirant, has firmly rejected widespread rumours suggesting his defection from the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections. In a statement posted on his X (formerly Twitter) account, Garba clarified that he remains a dedicated member of the ruling party, urging the public to disregard misinformation circulating on social media platforms.

Rumours Sparked by ADC's Political Moves

Speculations about Garba's potential departure from the APC surged following assertions by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) that it possesses the necessary support to challenge President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the upcoming 2027 polls. The ADC leaders have expressed optimism about embarking on a mission to 'rescue Nigeria,' intensifying political discourse and fuelling defection rumours among key figures.

Garba responded directly to a social media user who shared an old video showing him removing the APC flag from his office, dismissing it as 'mercantile fake news' propagated by 'bot-trons.' He emphasised his ongoing commitment to the APC while requesting space to focus on his personal pursuits, including writing books and managing business endeavours.

Prophetic Insights and Opposition Dynamics

Amidst the political fervour, Prophet Godwin Ikuru, founder of the Jehovah Eye Salvation Ministry, has predicted that President Tinubu will secure a second term in 2027, describing him as the most formidable candidate. However, opposition leaders, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and ex-Anambra State governor Peter Obi, are gearing up for a significant electoral battle to unseat Tinubu, whose first term concludes in 2027.

Tinubu, a founding father of the APC alongside Atiku, faces challenges but is widely regarded as a strong contender. Additionally, Primate Elijah Ayodele has issued warnings regarding Tinubu's running mate, Vice President Kashim Shettima, advising against any changes that could impact the 2027 bid.

As the political landscape evolves, Garba's reaffirmation of APC loyalty highlights ongoing party stability and the intense preparations for what many anticipate to be a highly competitive election cycle in Nigeria.
