Aiyedatiwa Predicts Tinubu Could Win All 36 States in 2027 Presidential Election
Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has made a bold declaration, stating that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu possesses the political capacity to become the first Nigerian presidential candidate to secure victory in all 36 states of the federation during the 2027 general elections. According to the governor, Tinubu's performance in office over the past three years has effectively eliminated any viable political alternatives, setting the stage for a historic electoral sweep.
Governor's Remarks at SWAGA Meeting
Aiyedatiwa shared these insights while receiving the national leadership of the South West Agenda for Asiwaju (SWAGA) at the Government House in Alagbaka, Akure, the capital of Ondo State. He emphasized that Tinubu inherited a country teetering on the verge of systemic collapse, but the progress made under his administration has simplified mobilization efforts for support groups like SWAGA. The governor welcomed the launch of SWAGA 2.0 in the state as a timely initiative, noting that machineries have been established to ensure Tinubu receives one million votes in Ondo State alone.
"The economy was at the brink of collapse when Tinubu came on board," Aiyedatiwa explained. "It had collapsed at the time when rural oil was being used to borrow money, and then they were printing Naira. So the work will be easier now for SWAGA. Especially with all that we have seen in the political space in Nigeria. The whole nation has seen the quality of the president that we have, and we have seen that there is no alternative now. That is why everybody has decided to join the party of the president. So he is the leader of our party."
Confidence in Electoral Success
Drawing from his own political achievements, Aiyedatiwa expressed confidence in Tinubu's potential to replicate success on a national scale. "I have won an entire 18 local governments in Ondo State, so it's not impossible that the president will also win that. We work for it. We pray towards that. And the Lord will keep him and grant him strength. For me, SWAGA is not new to me," he added, highlighting his familiarity with the group's efforts.
Support from SWAGA Leadership
Leading the SWAGA delegation, National Chairman Senator Dayo Adeyeye, who also serves as the Chairman of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), echoed the governor's sentiments. Adeyeye stated that the country was living on borrowed time under the previous administration, with former President Muhammadu Buhari having declared an inability to continue subsidy payments. He argued that critical infrastructure like the Dangote refinery would not function under a rigidly regulated system and that many businesses would have collapsed without the reforms implemented by President Tinubu.
This meeting underscores the growing momentum behind Tinubu's potential re-election bid, with key political figures rallying support and setting ambitious targets for the upcoming 2027 elections. The focus remains on leveraging Tinubu's perceived achievements to galvanize nationwide backing, aiming for an unprecedented electoral outcome across all states.
