APC Support Group AMG Mobilizes Ondo Women for Tinubu's 2027 Re-election Bid
The Asiwaju Mandate Group (AMG), a prominent support group within the All Progressives Congress (APC), has officially commenced a comprehensive mobilization drive across Ondo State. This strategic initiative is aimed at galvanizing support from women voters for President Bola Tinubu in anticipation of the 2027 general election. The group has outlined ambitious plans to extend its outreach to all 203 wards, 18 local government areas, and the three senatorial districts of the state, ensuring a widespread and impactful campaign.
Grassroots Sensitization and Strategic Planning
During a pivotal gathering at the AMG secretariat in Akure, the state capital, Yetunde Adeyanju, the State Women Coordinator for the AMG, addressed various women leaders. She emphasized that the mobilization efforts are rooted in highlighting the infrastructure and economic projects undertaken by President Tinubu's administration, which serve as the core of their appeal to voters. Adeyanju detailed that this meeting marks the inception of an extensive grassroots sensitization campaign, designed to build momentum well ahead of the election.
"Our goal is to mobilize women in Ondo State for the re-election of our President," Adeyanju stated. "We have convened with coordinators from all 203 wards to raise awareness and plan our next steps. In the coming weeks, we will visit each local government to engage directly with women, ensuring they are informed and united in their support. Our mission is to achieve a target of 95 percent of women in Ondo State voting for Tinubu, and we are committed to this through persistent outreach and education."
Organizational Structure and Commitment
Another key figure within the group, Erelu Olalomi Ajirogun, revealed that the AMG has already identified dedicated members across all 18 local governments and 203 wards who are poised to advance this mission. "We are here today to bolster support for President Bola Tinubu's 2027 campaign," Ajirogun explained. "Since last year, we have been organizing under the Asiwaju Mandate Group to encourage efforts for his re-election. With established women leaders and representatives in every ward, we have a robust network ready to drive this initiative forward."
Women as Key Influencers in the Electoral Process
Muyiwa Asagunla, the Director-General of the Asiwaju Mandate Group, underscored the critical role of women in the electoral landscape. He noted that the meeting is part of a broader strategy to build support ahead of the party's primaries, praising the women's wing for its organizational prowess across the senatorial districts. Asagunla argued that women constitute a formidable political force due to their pervasive presence in religious institutions, markets, and households, positioning them as influential figures capable of swaying family voting decisions.
"Today, our women's wing stakeholders are meeting to prepare for the upcoming primary election," Asagunla remarked. "They are executing their duties excellently and have initiated mobilization across all senatorial districts. It is imperative that we encourage their continued efforts, as they possess the unique ability to help Asiwaju Bola Tinubu secure the necessary votes in Ondo State. Women's involvement in churches, mosques, markets, and homes makes them pivotal in influencing electoral outcomes."
