APC Support Groups Mobilize for Tinubu's 2027 Re-election in Ondo State
In a bold declaration ahead of the 2027 presidential election, support groups within the All Progressives Congress (APC) have vowed to deliver an overwhelming 95 per cent of votes from Ondo State to President Bola Tinubu. The Asiwaju Mandate Group (AMG) and BTO4PBAT27 are spearheading intensive grassroots mobilization efforts across all 203 wards and polling units in the state, aiming to surpass Tinubu's 2023 electoral performance.
Grassroots Strategy and Unity Calls
Olumuyiwa Asagunla, Director-General of the AMG, outlined a comprehensive plan focused on consolidating support through enhanced voter engagement. He emphasized that the group's next phase will center entirely on intensive mobilization, urging all stakeholders to set aside internal differences and unite behind Tinubu's re-election bid. "We are confident that performance-based considerations and our grassroots outreach will propel us to achieve this target," Asagunla stated, highlighting the strategic approach to secure voter trust.
South-West as a Tinubu Fortress
Similarly, the BTO4PBAT27 group has described the South-West region as an impenetrable fortress for Tinubu, urging opposition parties to abandon any hopes of wresting control. The group asserted that with Tinubu's ongoing reforms, opposition parties stand no chance in the region, particularly as the South-West remains one of his strongest bastions. This confidence is bolstered by Tinubu's historical ties and political influence in the area.
Political Endorsements and Prayers for Continuity
Meanwhile, prominent APC figures have rallied behind Tinubu's re-election. Dr Mudashiru Obasa, Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, emphasized that continuity beyond 2027 is crucial to consolidating the gains of the Renewed Hope Agenda. Speaking at an interfaith prayer session in Ikeja to mark Tinubu's 74th birthday, organized by The Mandate Movement (TMM), Obasa noted that the President's achievements position him strongly for a second term. "This prayer is for his health, wisdom, and Nigeria's peace and development," he said, urging Nigerians to remain steadfast in their support.
Legacy and Economic Stability
Former Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, praised Tinubu's leadership and legacy, calling for collective support to ensure the nation reaps the full benefits of his reforms. "President Tinubu has stabilized the country and its economy, and we are confident Nigeria will continue to prosper under his administration," Ambode remarked. Echoing this sentiment, Tayo Ayinde, Chief of Staff to the Lagos State Governor, lauded Tinubu's efforts in repositioning the economy and urged all Nigerians to back his continuation beyond 2027.
The mobilization efforts underscore a concerted push within the APC to secure Tinubu's re-election, with Ondo State targeted as a key battleground. As groups intensify their ward-level activities, the political landscape in the South-West is set to be a focal point in the lead-up to the 2027 polls.
