APC Leaders Unite in Abuja to Back Tinubu's 2027 Re-election Campaign
In a significant show of political solidarity, former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, alongside other key figures from the All Progressives Congress (APC), has publicly advocated for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the upcoming 2027 polls. This endorsement came during a road march and environmental awareness event held in Abuja on Monday, which served as a precursor to the party's national convention scheduled for Friday.
Dogara Emphasizes Environmental Sustainability and Reform Patience
Dogara, a prominent voice within the APC, underscored the importance of environmental sustainability, linking the initiative to global climate change concerns. He stated that the event provided an opportunity for the party to demonstrate accountability and engage directly with Nigerians ahead of the 2027 elections. Additionally, Dogara urged citizens to exercise patience with the ongoing reforms under the Tinubu administration, acknowledging their challenges but highlighting the anticipated long-term benefits. "As the benefits of these reforms begin to materialise, Nigerians will see clearly why the President should be returned," he asserted, reinforcing his support for Tinubu's leadership.
Ayade Confirms Party Readiness and People-Oriented Agenda
Former Governor of Cross River State, Ben Ayade, who co-chaired the event's sub-committee, expressed unwavering confidence in the APC's ability to conduct a peaceful and successful national convention. He rallied support for Tinubu's re-election bid, describing the road march as a demonstration of the party's "capacity, energy and vitality" to organize a seamless convention. Ayade praised the cleanliness of the Federal Capital Territory, attributing it to effective environmental management, and commended the party for a well-coordinated process. "We have shown that we have the capacity to drive this convention in absolute peace. As a party, we are reloading to create a new Nigeria with a clear focus on putting the people first," he declared, noting that the event would culminate in a symbolic dance to signal preparedness for the 2027 elections.
Ekwunife and Masari Echo Confidence in APC's Electoral Prospects
Senator Uche Ekwunife aligned with Ayade's remarks, expressing gratitude to key party leaders, including former Speaker and ex-Governor of Katsina State, Aminu Bello Masari, who chairs the Convention Central Coordination Committee. She emphasized that the APC is not only prepared for its convention but also fully mobilized for the 2027 elections, predicting a landslide victory. "We are prepared, confident, and ready. In 2027, APC will return President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima with overwhelming support," Ekwunife affirmed.
Masari commended the organizers of the road march, describing it as a strong indicator of the party's readiness for both the convention and the next electoral cycle. "We are ready for the convention. What you have seen today is clear evidence that APC is prepared," he stated, adding that challenges are a natural part of life and do not undermine the party's resolve.
Event Highlights Party Unity Ahead of National Convention
The road march formed a crucial part of activities leading up to the APC national convention, with party leaders expressing optimism about the success of the gathering and the party's prospects in the 2027 general elections. This collective endorsement from Dogara, Ayade, Masari, and Ekwunife underscores a unified front within the APC as it gears up for critical political engagements, reinforcing support for President Tinubu's re-election campaign amidst ongoing national reforms.
