The United States chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC-USA) has pledged to intensify efforts to showcase the achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration across the world, describing Diaspora mobilisation as a critical factor in the party's quest for victory in the 2027 general elections.
APC-USA Statement on Diaspora Mobilisation
The position was contained in a statement issued by the Chairman of APC-USA and Special Adviser to the APC National Chairman on Mobilisation, Prof. Taiwo Ajibolu Balofin, who commended the leadership of the party and members of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors for promoting unity among APC members in the Diaspora.
Balofin specifically praised Nentawe Yilwatda, National Chairman of the APC, and Hope Uzodimma, Director-General of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, for their commitment to strengthening cohesion among party faithful abroad. He said their emphasis on effective communication of government reforms and achievements, as well as grassroots mobilisation among Nigerians in the Diaspora, would help consolidate support for the Tinubu administration and position the ruling party favourably ahead of the next general elections.
According to him, APC members across the Diaspora remain committed to working together to positively project the image of the party and promote the accomplishments of the administration on the global stage. Balofin also commended Abike Dabiri-Erewa for her sustained efforts in fostering engagement, collaboration and unity among Nigerians living abroad, noting that such initiatives have strengthened the bond between the Diaspora community and the homeland.
Appeal for Timely Support
He appealed to the APC leadership to continue providing timely support and responses to members in the Diaspora whenever necessary, stressing that such assistance would enhance their effectiveness in carrying out party responsibilities and mobilisation activities. The APC-USA chairman further urged Nigerians in the Diaspora to bring forward innovative ideas and initiatives capable of deepening unity, strengthening democratic participation and fostering a common sense of purpose among members.
“Collective efforts and sustained mobilisation remain essential to advancing the objectives of the Renewed Hope Agenda and ensuring continued support for the administration’s development programmes,” he stated.
Balofin's Commitment to APC
A prominent APC leader in the Diaspora, Prof. Balofin has built a reputation as one of the party's most active mobilisers among Nigerians living overseas. Over the years, he has consistently advocated greater inclusion of Diaspora members in the affairs of the ruling party and has championed stronger engagement between APC leaders at home and party chapters abroad.
As APC-USA chairman, he has led campaigns aimed at expanding the party's reach across the United States, strengthening its organisational structures and promoting the policies and programmes of APC-led governments. His appointment as Special Adviser to the APC National Chairman on Mobilisation is widely seen as recognition of his contributions to party building and grassroots engagement within the Diaspora community.
Balofin has also remained a vocal supporter of President Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda, regularly encouraging Nigerians abroad to leverage their expertise, professional networks and resources in support of national development while contributing to the APC's growth and electoral success.
Preparations for 2027 Elections
With preparations for the 2027 elections gradually gathering momentum, APC-USA says it is determined to work with party stakeholders across the globe to strengthen support for the administration and ensure that the achievements of the Tinubu government are effectively communicated to Nigerians at home and abroad.
