EFCC Cracks Down on Electoral Fraud in Anambra
In a significant move to safeguard electoral integrity, operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested three individuals suspected of engaging in vote buying during the Anambra State governorship election held on Saturday, November 8, 2025.

The anti-graft agency confirmed that the suspects were apprehended in separate locations across three different Local Government Areas of the state. Emeka Ilokasia was arrested at Ward 2 located within the Njikoka Local Government Area.
In a parallel operation, Nwachukwu Loretta was taken into custody at Ward 2 (008) in Awkuzu, which falls under the Oyi Local Government Area. The third suspect, Emuka Chuwudi, was picked up at Umunachi village in the Dunukofia Local Government Area.
The EFCC stated unequivocally that all three individuals were caught in the act during the active electoral process, highlighting the vigilance of its operatives on election day.
