The endorsement was formalized during a meeting held at the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Secretariat, where members described Yari as a unifying political figure with extensive nationwide reach and substantial experience.
National Coordinator of the group, Chief Preye Agama, emphasized Yari's political trajectory, which includes serving as a member of the House of Representatives, a two-term governor, and currently a senator. Agama stated, "Senator Yari possesses the political capital, experience, and network required to lead a successful presidential campaign. We believe he has what it takes to pilot President Tinubu to victory in 2027."
