Jandor Steps Up Outreach to Lagos APC Elders Ahead of Primaries
A Lagos State governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, has intensified political consultations with key leaders of the party as momentum builds toward the forthcoming primaries.
Engagements with Influential Party Figures
As part of the latest round of engagements, the aspirant met with the leadership of the influential Governance Advisory Council (GAC), including its chairman, Prince Tajudeen Olusi. He also held separate discussions with senior party figures such as Cardinal James Omolaja Odumbaku, former Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Sabit Adeyemi Ikuforiji, and party stalwart, Monsuru Owolabi Batola, also known as Alao Seniyan.
Strategy for Building Consensus and Mobilisation
In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Gbenga Ogunleye, the consultations were described as part of a broader effort to build consensus within the party and strengthen alignment across its structures. The statement noted that the aspirant has directed leaders of his political network across the 377 wards and 13,326 polling units in Lagos State to begin immediate engagement with party members to mobilise support ahead of the primaries.
He described the meetings as part of a broader effort to consolidate support across the party’s hierarchy while maintaining strong ties with grassroots members. According to him, Adediran is pursuing a dual consultation strategy that seeks to balance input from party leaders with feedback from rank-and-file members, a move his team believes will strengthen internal cohesion and improve his chances at the primaries.
Mobilisation of Grassroots Support
In line with this approach, coordinators within his political network across wards and polling units in the state have been mobilised to engage party faithful and build support structures ahead of the contest. The APC aspirant reaffirmed his commitment to party unity and discipline, acknowledging the longstanding role of the GAC in shaping the party’s direction in Lagos State.
He also expressed readiness to work with all stakeholders and align with decisions taken by the party leadership as the political process unfolds. This outreach effort underscores the aspirant's proactive approach to securing party backing and ensuring a cohesive campaign as the primary elections draw nearer.
