2027: Ogah Okpanachi Mark Appointed Kogi Director for Pro-Tinubu City Boy Movement
Okpanachi Named Kogi Director for Pro-Tinubu Movement

In a strategic move ahead of the 2027 general elections, a prominent political support group has announced a key leadership appointment in Kogi State. The City Boy Movement (CBM), a grassroots organisation loyal to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC), has named Chief Ogah Okpanachi Mark as its new State Director for Kogi.

Strategic Appointment for Grassroots Mobilisation

The appointment, confirmed on 5 January 2026, is a calculated effort to strengthen the movement's base and coordination within the confluence state. The CBM stated that the decision is aimed at enhancing grassroots mobilisation ahead of future electoral contests, positioning Okpanachi at the forefront of the group's activities in Kogi.

In a statement acknowledging his new role, Okpanachi described the appointment as a call to service. He pledged to deploy a results-driven leadership approach to deepen the Movement's reach across all corners of the state. He extended gratitude to the CBM's national leadership, particularly its Director-General, Hon. Tosin Shoga, for providing strategic direction.

Aligning with the Renewed Hope Agenda

The City Boy Movement rose to national prominence during the 2023 election cycle and is closely tied to President Tinubu's political base. It functions as a platform focused on youth engagement, political mobilisation, and advocacy for the administration's Renewed Hope Agenda.

Okpanachi also highlighted the encouragement from the Movement's Grand Patron, Seyi Tinubu, towards young political organisers nationwide. He explained that his appointment reflects CBM's emphasis on expanding its leadership structure at the sub-national level to ensure effective coordination from the ward and local government levels up to the state chapter.

Priorities and Political Commitments

As the new Kogi State Director, Okpanachi outlined clear priorities. His immediate focus will be the full mobilisation of the chapter across all 21 local government areas and key stakeholder groups. He emphasised strengthening internal organisation and sustaining engagement at the grassroots, ensuring the Kogi chapter's activities align with the Movement's broader national objectives.

Okpanachi left no room for ambiguity regarding the group's political direction. He openly affirmed CBM's commitment to supporting President Tinubu's re-election bid in 2027. Simultaneously, he declared the movement's backing for Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo to secure a second term in Kogi State.

"We believe strongly that continuity at both the federal and state levels is critical to deepening the gains already recorded and securing a more prosperous future for our people," Okpanachi stated.

He argued that such continuity is essential for consolidating development gains and ensuring policy stability. The newly appointed director assured the CBM leadership and members that the Kogi State Chapter would be fully mobilised, well organised, and strategically positioned to advance the movement's vision and ideals.
