The Ondo State Government has officially reaffirmed its strong commitment to supporting President Bola Tinubu's bid for a second term in the 2027 presidential election. State officials expressed confidence that Ondo will not only repeat but significantly exceed its previous electoral performance in support of the President.
Governor Aiyedatiwa to Lead Mobilization Efforts
Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Idowu Ajanaku, revealed that Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, serving as the party leader in the state, will mobilize all necessary political structures and resources to support President Tinubu's re-election campaign. This announcement came during a media engagement with journalists following the conclusion of the All Progressives Congress National Convention held in Abuja.
Ajanaku emphasized that the state leadership views the 2027 election as a critical opportunity to consolidate the gains achieved under the current administration. He noted that Ondo State had already distinguished itself during the 2023 general elections by delivering the highest number of votes for President Tinubu across the entire South-West geopolitical zone.
Promising to Surpass Previous Electoral Performance
The Commissioner expressed strong optimism that the state would not only repeat but surpass that impressive record when Nigerians return to the polls in 2027. According to Ajanaku, Governor Aiyedatiwa has assured party stakeholders of intensified grassroots mobilization efforts specifically aimed at doubling the previous electoral achievement.
"This strategic approach will reinforce the APC's dominance in the state," Ajanaku stated, highlighting the comprehensive nature of the planned campaign activities.

Ajanaku described the recently concluded APC National Convention as a clear demonstration of unity, strength, and electoral readiness. He noted that the seamless conduct of the gathering had further positioned the party for victory, particularly in the crucial 2027 presidential contest.
The Commissioner pointed to specific infrastructural developments as justification for the state's sustained support:
- The 71-kilometre Ondo portion of the ongoing Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road project
- The construction of the Ore-Ondo Road
- The proposed Ondo Sea Port development
"The President has shown unprecedented commitment to infrastructural transformation across Nigeria, and Ondo State is a direct beneficiary of this vision," Ajanaku declared. "These are not mere promises but tangible developments that have already begun to reshape our economic landscape. These interventions fully justify our sustained support for President Tinubu."
