Oshiomhole Predicts Tinubu Landslide Victory in 2027 Election Against Atiku, Obi
Oshiomhole Predicts Tinubu's 2027 Landslide Victory

Senator Adams Oshiomhole has declared that the 2027 presidential election will pose no significant challenge to President Bola Tinubu, predicting a landslide victory for the incumbent. The former national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) made the remarks in a video interview on The Mic on Podcast, released on Sunday, June 14.

Oshiomhole Criticizes Peter Obi's Leadership

During the interview, Oshiomhole strongly criticized Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) for the 2027 elections. Obi, who was the Labour Party flagbearer in the 2023 election and finished third with 6,101,533 votes, faced sharp scrutiny over his tenure as Anambra State governor.

Oshiomhole stated, "Peter Obi could not fix security in Anambra state. It took the intervention of Governor Willie Obiano, who took over from him to begin to destroy the property of those who he believed are involved in kidnapping." He further argued that Obi lacked the courage to address security challenges, noting that his own state, Edo, was safer during his governorship.

Tinubu's Path to Reelection

Oshiomhole asserted that President Tinubu would comfortably defeat opposition figures like former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi. He dismissed Obi's recent calls against ethnic profiling, demanding specific solutions rather than vague buzzwords. "Everybody knows that things are not perfect. A statesman must provide answers. We haven't heard specific solutions that he will deploy other than this buzzword 'do the right thing'," Oshiomhole said.

He predicted that Tinubu would win "hands down" and that opposition candidates would not even match their 2023 vote totals.

Opposition Disunity Favors Tinubu

Earlier reports from Legit.ng indicated that former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose also predicted a Tinubu victory, citing the division between Atiku and Obi, who are contesting on the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and NDC platforms respectively. Fayose, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, argued that the opposition's failure to unite under one party weakens their chances against Tinubu.

The 2027 presidential election is shaping up to be a contest between Tinubu of the APC, Atiku of the ADC, Obi of the NDC, and other candidates. Oshiomhole's comments reflect confidence in the ruling party's ability to retain power despite economic and security challenges.
