An agricultural economist and systems architect, Otunba Tunji Oredipe, has officially declared his ambition to contest the Ogun State 2027 governorship election on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). Oredipe, who hails from the Ogun East Senatorial District, made this announcement during a well-attended event at Eagle Square in Atan, the headquarters of Ijebu Northeast Local Government Area.

Campaign Launch and Vision

During the declaration ceremony, Oredipe unveiled the Otunba Tunji Oredipe (OTO) Campaign Strategy Document and the Campaign Organization Structure. He pledged to ensure visibility for every community in Ogun State, deliver economic value to the grassroots, and make accountability the central focus of his administration if elected. Oredipe emphasized that the office of the governor is not a position to be shared based on unwritten rotation arrangements but should be entrusted to the best hand capable of handling the state's affairs.

Background and Aspirant Count

Oredipe's career has spanned multiple global institutions, including the World Bank, where he gained extensive experience. His entry into the race brings the total number of APC governorship aspirants to ten, with two from Ogun East, four from Ogun Central, and six from Ogun West. He urged APC stakeholders and the people of Ogun State not to miss this best opportunity to select him as the party's flag bearer for the 2027 election.
