Enugu Civil Servants Jubilate as Governor Mbah Approves 2,114 Promotions and Conversions
Civil servants in Enugu State are filled with excitement following the approval by Governor Peter Mbah for the promotion and conversion of 2,114 public workers. This significant move, which takes immediate effect, includes the financial implications of the new ranks, ensuring that beneficiaries can start enjoying their upgraded status without any delays.
Details of the Promotion and Conversion Exercise
The affected workers participated in the promotion and conversion exercises conducted across the state's civil service in November and December 2025. According to Mr. Robison Odo, Chairman of the Enugu State Civil Service Commission, the exercise encompasses officers from Grade Levels 01 to 17 who successfully passed the promotion interviews. He disclosed this development in Enugu, describing it as a timely and morale-boosting gesture, akin to an Easter gift for the workers.
Mr. Odo stated, "The governor recently approved the release of the promotion and conversion of 2,114 officers who participated in the 2025 exercise. The approval also takes immediate effect with the financial benefits attached." He assured that the commission would expedite the implementation of the governor's directive to ensure swift processing.
Commitment to Workers' Welfare and Productivity
Odo commended the administration for its sustained commitment to workers' welfare, highlighting that prompt payment of salaries, pensions, and gratuities has become a hallmark of the government. He further emphasized the state's N80,000 minimum wage, which exceeds the national benchmark, as a clear demonstration of Governor Mbah's worker-friendly policies.
"Workers are genuinely excited," Odo added. "This is a strong motivation for improved productivity and commitment to service. We deeply appreciate the governor for prioritizing our welfare despite ongoing infrastructural development across the state." He pledged continued discipline, innovation, and productivity within the civil service to align with the administration's development agenda.
The approval not only boosts morale but also reinforces the government's focus on enhancing public service efficiency and employee satisfaction in Enugu State.
