In a significant event aimed at boosting morale and recognising excellence, the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has publicly commended the staff of his ministry for their pivotal role in driving its successes.
Celebrating Collective Achievement at Town Hall
The commendation was delivered during the Ministry of Interior Town Hall Meeting, Reward and Recognition Award Ceremony held in Abuja on December 19, 2025. The event was a key part of the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan (FCSSIP) 2025.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Tunji-Ojo highlighted the dedication, resilience, and professionalism of the ministry's workforce. He described them as the fundamental engine behind all accomplishments recorded over the past two and a half years.
"The peace, unity, and commitment that define this Ministry are products of our collective effort," the Minister stated. He emphasised that every award and recognition earned belongs to the entire staff body, not just those in leadership positions.
"No Full Stops, Only Commas" in Reform Agenda
While acknowledging the significant milestones achieved in 2025, Dr. Tunji-Ojo firmly declared that progress must not halt. He reiterated his core philosophy of perpetual development.
"There are no full stops, only commas," he stressed, underscoring the ministry's unwavering commitment to maintaining momentum in service delivery and institutional reforms. This drive, he noted, is firmly aligned with the objectives of the FCSSIP.
The Minister also expressed profound gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for his consistent support, which he described as instrumental to the ministry's successes. He praised the President's leadership style, anchored on innovation and reform, for creating an enabling environment for impactful initiatives.
Permanent Secretary Calls for Digital Shift
Adding her voice at the ceremony, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, highlighted an urgent priority. She stressed the critical need to transition the ministry from manual to digital operations to ensure effective and faster service delivery to Nigerians.
Dr. Ajani shared a notable observation from the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, who reportedly commended the Ministry of Interior for its exceptional unity and coherent teamwork, stating it was a model among ministries.
The event featured a Reward and Recognition Award Ceremony designed to motivate staff and strengthen a culture of excellence, accountability, and high performance across all departments.
Concluding his address, Dr. Tunji-Ojo extended Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year wishes to all staff. He encouraged them to remain steadfast, innovative, and committed as the ministry advances its critical national mandate into the coming year.
