Obahiagbon Replaces Ogbeide-Ihama
Obahiagbon replaces Engineer Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama, who resigned from his position to pursue political aspirations in his home state. The appointment takes immediate effect.
Obahiagbon, 66, is a legal practitioner and a chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). He served in both the Edo State House of Assembly and the National Assembly, representing Oredo Federal Constituency from 2007 until 2011, when he was appointed Chief of Staff to then-Governor Adams Oshiomhole.
Known for Distinctive Vocabulary
The former federal lawmaker gained popularity among Nigerians for his distinctive use of elaborate vocabulary and flamboyant expressions in social and political commentary, often referred to as "big grammar." His appointment has drawn attention due to his colorful public persona.
The Niger Delta Power Holding Company is a key entity in Nigeria's power sector, responsible for managing and developing power assets in the Niger Delta region. Obahiagbon's role as Executive Director, Strategy and Commercial, will involve overseeing strategic planning and commercial operations.
