Adeboye Urges 100-Day Delay from Trump, 90-Day Security Ultimatum
Adeboye to Tinubu: Delay Trump for 100 Days

In a crucial intervention during November's Holy Ghost Service, Pastor Enoch Adeboye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God has called for urgent diplomatic action from President Bola Tinubu's administration amid escalating tensions with the United States.

Diplomatic Solution to International Crisis

The respected cleric addressed the gathering at Redemption City in Ogun State on Friday, emphasizing the need for wisdom and speed in handling the developing situation with the United States government. "If I were asked to make suggestions, I would say to our government: move fast, move diplomatically, move wisely," Adeboye stated clearly.

He proposed a specific timeline for resolving the crisis: "Find a way to convince the president of America to delay his actions for about 100 days, then come home and tell our security chiefs to get rid of these terrorists within 90 days or resign."

Background of US-Nigeria Tensions

The current diplomatic strain stems from actions taken by US President Donald Trump on October 31, when he directed the Pentagon to prepare "possible action" against Nigeria. The American leader accused Nigeria's government of failing to protect Christians from persecution and labeled the country as "disgraced."

This development followed the US State Department's designation of Nigeria as a "Country of Particular Concern" for alleged violations of religious freedom. However, the Nigerian government has strongly rejected these accusations, maintaining that the violence affecting the nation impacts people of all faiths equally.

Foreign Minister Yusuf Tuggar characterized the American position as a misrepresentation of Nigeria's complex security challenges, which involve criminal elements and extremists rather than religious persecution.

Call for Accountability and Action

Pastor Adeboye stressed the gravity of the situation, noting that "innocent people are dying every day" and urging leaders to prioritize human lives above political considerations. He delivered a sobering assessment of Nigeria's international standing, warning that while countries like China and Russia might criticize American intervention, none would actively defend Nigeria in a military conflict.

The religious leader called for immediate exposure of terrorism sponsors and stronger accountability measures within Nigeria's security apparatus. His intervention comes amid growing international scrutiny of Nigeria's human rights record, with both China and the African Union recently urging the United States to respect Nigeria's sovereignty.

Meanwhile, President Tinubu has reaffirmed Nigeria's commitment to combating terrorism and protecting all citizens regardless of religious affiliation, while maintaining openness to international cooperation that respects national sovereignty.

Adeboye concluded his message with prayers for peace and unity, encouraging Nigerians to remain calm and hopeful. "If we act with wisdom and urgency, this storm will pass," he assured the congregation.
