Iran Announces Bounty for US Pilots Following Alleged F-35 Downing
Iran has reportedly placed a bounty on American pilots after claiming it shot down a US F-35 fighter jet, a development that has significantly heightened tensions in the ongoing Middle East conflict. Iranian state-linked media released images purported to show the wreckage of the aircraft, with authorities alleging that a pilot ejected over Iranian territory.
Rewards Offered for Pilot Capture
Authorities in the Kohkilouyeh and Boyer-Ahmad province stated that residents are being urged to hand over any captured US pilots to security agencies in exchange for a financial reward. State television also announced monetary incentives for information leading to the pilots' capture. US officials have not confirmed these claims, and the Pentagon has remained publicly silent on the matter.
Previous Iranian assertions about downed aircraft have frequently been disputed by Washington, adding skepticism to the current reports. However, if verified, this incident would mark the first time a US jet has been brought down in enemy territory since the current regional conflict began.
Search Operations and Regional Escalation
Reports indicate that search and rescue efforts may be underway, with helicopters reportedly observed over Tehran amid suggestions that two pilots could be missing. This development occurs amid escalating hostilities across the Middle East.
US President Donald Trump warned that military operations against Iran could intensify, stating: "Our Military, the greatest and most powerful (by far!) anywhere in the World, hasn't even started destroying what's left in Iran. Bridges next, then Electric Power Plants! New Regime leadership knows what has to be done, and has to be done, FAST!"
Widening Regional Conflict
The conflict has continued to spread across the region, with Iran launching strikes on energy infrastructure. A fire was reported at Kuwait's Mina al-Ahmadi oil refinery, while air defense systems were activated in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia in response to drone threats.
Meanwhile, Israel has carried out retaliatory strikes in Tehran and the central city of Isfahan, further intensifying the regional confrontation. These developments underscore the rapidly deteriorating security situation in the Middle East, with multiple nations now directly involved in the hostilities.
