Iran's New Supreme Leader Cheated Death by Seconds in Israeli Strike
In a startling revelation, Iran's new supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, reportedly survived the Israeli strike that killed his father, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, by mere seconds. According to leaked audio from a private meeting, Mojtaba stepped outside the compound for a walk in the garden minutes before the blast occurred, a decision that ultimately spared his life while claiming dozens of others.
Leaked Audio Unveils Harrowing Details
The audio, obtained by The Telegraph, details the events of the February 28 strike on the Khamenei compound in Tehran. Mazaher Hosseini, head of protocol for Khamenei's office, informed Iranian leaders in a March 12 meeting that Mojtaba was with his father when he stepped out "to do something." As soon as he was away, Israel's space-faring Blue Sparrow ballistic missiles struck, killing the elder Khamenei and many senior officers and family members.
Hosseini described the moment, stating, "God's will was that Mojtaba had to go out to the yard to do something and then return. He was outside and was heading upstairs when they struck the building with a missile. His wife, Ms. Haddad, was martyred instantly." Despite the devastation, Mojtaba reportedly suffered only a minor leg injury, though rumors suggest his condition may be more severe.
Gruesome Aftermath of the Attack
The leaked audio also revealed horrific details about the strike's impact. Iran's military chief, Mohammad Shirazi, was blown to bits, with Hosseini noting, "He was blown to pieces – they could find nothing from him, and at the end they found a few kilos of flesh and identified it as his body." Additionally, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's son-in-law, Misbah al-Huda Bagheri Kani, was found with his head split in two from the blast.
Hosseini explained that at least three missiles were used in the attack. One hit where Khamenei was stationed, another struck Mojtaba's home on an upper floor, and a third targeted Bagheri Kani's residence. "The missile was so powerful that it went downstairs where Mr. Misbah was, it went to Mr. Misbah's room," Hosseini said. "The missiles were struck in a way that cut his head in half."
Survivors and Speculations
Amid the carnage, some family members survived. Mostafa Khamenei, the eldest son of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and his wife emerged from the destruction unharmed. However, the absence of Mojtaba from public view since the war began has fueled speculation about his true condition. Rumors suggest he may be more injured than officially reported, with some even questioning if he is alive.
Former U.S. President Donald Trump added to the uncertainty, telling reporters, "A lot of people are saying that he's badly disfigured. They're saying that he lost his leg, one leg, and he's been hurt very badly. Other people are saying he's dead. We haven't seen him at all. We don't know if he's dead or not. Nobody's seen him, which is unusual."
The leaked audio has surfaced as Iran grapples with leadership transitions and ongoing conflicts, highlighting the precarious nature of power in the region. The incident underscores the high stakes of geopolitical tensions and the personal tragedies that often accompany them.
