Newly naturalized citizens are not immediately eligible for public office. According to the government, a five-year waiting period from the date of naturalization must pass before they can hold public sector positions. Children of naturalized Qatari fathers are automatically considered naturalized citizens, regardless of birthplace. Priority in granting nationality is given to the sons and daughters of Qatari women.
No Dual Citizenship Permitted
