The programme categorizes applicants into five distinct groups, each with specific conditions and stay periods ranging from five to ten years.
Eligibility Categories for UAE Golden Visa
According to the UAE government website, the five categories eligible for the Golden Visa are investors, entrepreneurs, people with exceptional talent, outstanding students, and humanitarians. Each category has a defined residency duration and set of requirements.
1. Investors: Foreign nationals with investments in UAE public institutions or real estate qualify for residency between five and ten years, depending on the nature and scale of their investment.
2. Entrepreneurs: Entrepreneurs who meet the programme's requirements are granted a five-year residency under the Golden Visa.
3. People with Exceptional Talent: Individuals recognized for exceptional skills or talent receive a ten-year residency, providing long-term stability for high-achieving professionals.
4. Outstanding Students: High school students with outstanding academic results are eligible for a five-year visa, while outstanding university students qualify for a ten-year stay, reflecting the UAE's emphasis on education.
5. Humanitarians: Humanitarian pioneers and frontline heroes are granted a ten-year residency under the programme.
Key Benefits for Golden Visa Holders
Beyond extended residency periods, Golden Visa holders are entitled to additional benefits as listed on the UAE government website. These include the freedom to live, work, and study in the UAE; the ability to obtain residence permits for a spouse, children, and certain relatives; and access to investment opportunities within the country.
