Identification and Photograph Rules
Test-takers must bring the original form of identification used when booking, not a photocopy or screenshot. A photograph is taken at the test centre on the day as an additional identity check. Anyone arriving without the correct ID or declining to be photographed will not be allowed to sit the test and will not receive a refund.
What Happens After the Test
Successful candidates receive a unique reference number, which must be included in their citizenship or settlement application. The Home Office uses this number to verify that the test was completed successfully. For those who took the test before 17 December 2019, a letter with a test reference ID was issued instead. If that letter is lost, applicants should include a written explanation with their application.
Cancellation and Refund Policy
Applicants who cancel at least 72 hours before their appointment are entitled to a full refund. Cancellations or rearrangements made within that three-day window will not be refunded. Additionally, children and other family members are not allowed to accompany candidates into the testing centre.
