Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has extended his congratulations to Muslim faithful in the state and across Nigeria on the occasion of this year's Eid-el-Kabir celebration. He urged them to embrace the virtues of sacrifice, obedience, love, and peaceful coexistence as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim.
In his Sallah message, Governor Abiodun emphasized that Eid-el-Kabir is a spiritually significant event that teaches humanity the importance of faith, selflessness, tolerance, and complete submission to the will of Almighty Allah. He called on residents of Ogun State to continue living in peace and harmony, regardless of religious or ethnic differences.
The governor reaffirmed his administration's commitment to enhancing the welfare of the people through sustained investments in infrastructure, security, education, healthcare, youth empowerment, and economic development.
Similarly, Senator Solomon Adeola, representing Ogun West Senatorial District in the National Assembly, urged all Muslim faithful in his district and other Nigerians to pray for peace. In his Sallah message, Adeola noted that strict adherence to Islamic teachings on sacrifice, love, brotherliness, piety, and peaceful coexistence would significantly help Nigeria consolidate the gains of the government's agenda.
Meanwhile, the Ogun State chapter of The Muslim Congress (TMC) called on the faithful to imbibe the spirit of sacrifice, obedience, and total submission to Allah, as exemplified by Prophets Ibrahim, Ismail, and Muhammad (SAW). In a statement signed by TMC Waali Dr. Jamiu Folarin, the organization highlighted that the Eid-Ul-Adha festival carries profound lessons capable of addressing the spiritual, social, political, and economic challenges facing the world today.
Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, also congratulated the Muslim Ummah on the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir. In a goodwill message signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Yinka Oyebode, the governor described the festival as a sacred occasion of sacrifice, faith, and joy. He urged Muslims to embrace the core lesson of total submission to Allah, noting that such devotion brings immense spiritual rewards. Oyebanji further encouraged Muslims to celebrate in moderation and to extend love and generosity to their neighbors, especially the less privileged, in line with the teachings of the Holy Qur'an.
