This year's conference holds particular significance as it comes at a pivotal moment in the NBA's leadership. Following the recent election, Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya, SAN, is set to be inaugurated as the association's next president during the conference. The incoming president and other newly elected national officers will be formally sworn in at the event, marking a transition of leadership that will shape the future of the bar.

Port Harcourt, the capital of Rivers State, will host this historic gathering, bringing together eminent jurists, senior advocates, and legal professionals from various specialisations.
Roles and Responsibilities of the LOC
According to the NBA, the Local Organising Committee is tasked with assisting the AGCPC in planning, organising, and executing events and activities for the conference. This includes overseeing venue construction and management, accommodation, transportation, security, and other critical event operations. The committee is expected to collaborate closely with the AGCPC and other stakeholders to ensure the smooth running of the conference in Port Harcourt.
The constitution of the LOC reflects the NBA's commitment to delivering a well-organised and impactful annual conference. By designating a dedicated team with a broad range of expertise, the association aims to address all logistical and procedural aspects of the event, from the opening ceremony to the final sessions.
Appreciation and Call to Service
In the notice announcing the committee, Mr Osigwe expressed his gratitude to the members for accepting to serve. He urged them to contribute fully to the success of the conference and the continued development of the Bar. His remarks highlight the importance of collective effort in ensuring that the 2026 Annual General Conference not only meets but exceeds expectations.
With the LOC now in place, preparations for the 2026 NBA Annual General Conference are expected to accelerate. The committee's work in the coming months will be crucial in delivering an event that reflects the association's values and its commitment to the advancement of the legal profession in Nigeria.
