Religious Leader Sounds Alarm Over Ogun State's Deteriorating Infrastructure
Prominent cleric Prophet Israel Oladele Ogundipe, widely known as Prophet Genesis, has issued an urgent appeal to Ogun State authorities concerning the catastrophic condition of roads in the Egbado area. The religious leader specifically called upon Governor Dapo Abiodun and Ifo Local Council Chairman Idris Olalekan Kusimo to take immediate action on infrastructure that has plagued residents for generations.
Three Decades of Neglect: Community's Desperate Struggle
In a heartfelt SOS video shared with the public, Prophet Genesis documented how the road network has progressively deteriorated over the past thirty years, creating what he described as an endless cycle of suffering for local inhabitants. The Presiding Prophet of CCC Genesis Global revealed the community's repeated but unsuccessful attempts to address the situation through self-help initiatives.
"Over the years, residents and business owners have had to raise money several times to carry out some palliative works on this road," the clergyman explained. "Sadly, whenever it rains, we are back to where we started from as every single downpour washes away whatever palliative work we tried to do."
Life-Threatening Consequences and Security Concerns
The consequences extend beyond mere inconvenience, with Prophet Genesis emphasizing the road's direct impact on public safety and emergency response capabilities. He highlighted a particularly alarming situation where police patrol vehicles cannot access the community during security emergencies due to the impassable road conditions.
"The bad roads have even become life-threatening to us here," he stated. "Any time we have a security emergency, police patrol vehicles find it difficult to access this community as a result of the sorry state of this road."
The clergyman detailed the widespread impact on various demographics, noting that students, business owners, school proprietors, and elderly residents all endure what he called "indescribable pain" due to the infrastructure failure. The approach of rainy season now fills the community with dread rather than anticipation, knowing their suffering will intensify with each rainfall.
Prophet Genesis concluded his appeal with a passionate plea for the Ogun State government to remember the Egbado community in their infrastructure planning, stressing that road reconstruction is essential not only for current residents' well-being but for the safety of future generations.
