Egbe-Idimu Council Boss Empowers Skills Graduates

The Chairman of Egbe-Idimu Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Lagos State, Honorable Idris Balogun, has taken a significant step towards poverty reduction by empowering hundreds of graduates from the council's skills acquisition program.

A Boost for Graduates and Local Economy

During an event commemorating his first 100 days in office, themed "Renewed Hope Agenda in Motion," Balogun distributed essential tools and financial support to the beneficiaries. The empowerment initiative saw five hundred graduates receive vital equipment for their trades, including:

  • Gas cylinders
  • Sewing machines
  • Hair clippers and dryers
  • Various other tools

In a substantial financial boost, each of the 500 beneficiaries also received a cash grant of N100,000 to help them kickstart their businesses and achieve financial independence.

Delivering on the Promise of Democracy

Addressing the community, Chairman Balogun reflected on his administration's journey since taking office. "One hundred days ago, you entrusted me with your mandate. Together, we began a journey anchored in service, accountability and genuine progress," he stated.

He emphasized that his mission aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu, focusing on bringing visible, people-centred development to every part of Egbe-Idimu LCDA.

Beyond the empowerment program, Balogun highlighted his administration's achievements across multiple sectors, including:

  • Education: Distribution of 10,000 exercise books, 10,000 school bags, and 3,000 school uniforms
  • Infrastructure: Commissioning of new roads including PHIDEL College Street, Prince Tunde Balogun/Abeokuta Street, Market/Jemi Alade Street, and Olisa Street
  • Youth development, environmental improvements, and enhanced governance
